How Licensing Works
Cloud transcription is usually billed by usage, per minute of audio. Scriber is licensed per user instead, and only the users who transcribe are counted. Colleagues who only read the transcripts and minutes need no licence, and the hours you record are not metered.
Inside an installation, transcription is unlimited, and so are summaries and meeting minutes. Nothing in Scriber calls out, so there is no meter reporting back to us and no usage cap to plan around. A long council session or a week of interviews adds nothing to the price of your installation.
There is no published price list. Alongside the number of users who transcribe, the quote reflects the installation itself: the server, the connections and the minutes template differ from one organisation to the next.
What Goes Into a Quote
A quote covers what it takes to get Scriber running in your network and to keep it running. These are the points we go through with you:
Users who transcribe
The licence counts the people who record or upload meetings for transcription. Colleagues who only read the results are not counted.
Your recording volume
How much you record, and how quickly the finished minutes are needed, decides what the server has to handle.
Your server
Scriber can run on any server with a modern Nvidia GPU that you already operate.
Installation and configuration
We install and configure Scriber on your hardware and set up the minutes template to match the format you already use.
Connections to your systems
Where recordings arrive, such as a watched folder, an S3-compatible bucket or a network share, and which folder or share the results are delivered to.
Support
The support you need after installation is agreed as part of the quote.
How to Get a Quote
It starts with an initial consultation. We look at what you record, which rules your recordings fall under and the infrastructure Scriber would run on. A short message through the contact form or to [email protected] is enough to begin.
From there we prepare your quote. Once you accept it, we install and configure Scriber on your hardware. After that it runs entirely inside your network, and no recording, transcript or set of minutes ever leaves your control.

Questions About Pricing
Is Scriber priced per minute or per user?
Per user, not per minute. Only the users who transcribe are counted; colleagues who only read the transcripts and minutes are not. For those users, transcription, summaries and meeting minutes are unlimited, and nothing is metered, because nothing in Scriber reports back to us.
Do we need to buy new hardware?
Not necessarily. Scriber runs on a server with an Nvidia GPU, and if you already operate one that suits your recording volume, we install it there. If you do not, GPU servers can be rented from various providers.
Who installs and configures Scriber?
We do, unless you prefer to do it yourself. Determin installs and configures Scriber on your hardware, sets up your minutes template and connects it to the systems you already use, such as the folder or network share your recordings arrive in. How the installation is carried out, for example on a closed or air-gapped network, is agreed with your IT beforehand.
Does the price go up if we record more?
Not because of usage. The licence follows the number of users who transcribe, not how much they record, and transcription inside the installation is unlimited. What volume does affect is the server: if you come to record far more than the installation was planned for, the hardware may need to grow with it. Tell us early and we will look at it with you.
